Everlyne Morema - Kenya
Dr. Morema is an early career researcher and a senior lecturer in Research, Epidemiology, Community Health Nursing, and Health Promotion at the School of Nursing and Midwifery of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. Her research interests are in the areas of Reproductive, Maternal Neonatal Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) and Health Systems Management. She holds a doctorate degree in Public Health (Health Systems Management), Master of Public Health and Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her research output can be accessed here
Obasanjo Bolarinwa - Nigeria
Obasanjo Bolarinwa is a dedicated population scientist and global public health expert with a strong passion for promoting evidence- based public health initiatives. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Demography and Population Studies at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. Obasanjo has demonstrated a deep commitment to public health research and education, which has been recognized through various awards, including the Early Career Grant Award from the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and the Union for African Population Studies. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in Public Health at York St John University in London, United Kingdom where he teaches research methodologies, contribute to curriculum development, and publish research papers.
Racheal Asibi Amwe - Nigeria
Dr. Racheal Asibi Amwe is a Lecturer of disability studies in the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, Faculty of Education, University of Jos, Nigeria. Her area of research includes the education and rehabilitation of persons living with disabilities, sexual and reproductive rights of women and girls with disability, gender and disability and the religious and cultural perspectives of disability
Negussie Boti Sidamo - Ethiopia
Dr. Negussie Boti Sidamo is a lecturer and researcher in Public Health at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Arba Minch University holding a PhD in Public Health. Negussie is the managing editor of the Ethiopian Journal of Reproductive Health (EJRH) and an associate guest editor for Frontiers and is committed to advancing research in his field. His work primarily focuses on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and integrating climate resilience into public health interventions. He contributes to the Eastern Africa Population Study Fellowship initiative, where he plays a key role in building the capacity of early-career researchers in population dynamics. He also contributes to policy development, including writing policy briefs and assisting in the creation of job descriptions for the Public Health Education and Service Directorate at his institution.
James Mburu Kangethe - Kenya
James is an infectious diseases researcher from the University of Nairobi and Kenyatta National Hospital, Kenya. He has broad research interests in viral sexually transmitted infections among women living with HIV, adolescents, youths, key populations, and implementation science. Further, he has specialized vaccinology research skills from the African Leadership in Vaccinology Expertise (ALIVE) research group, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He serves as a mentor of the International AIDS Society where has successfully mentored young career researchers from the global context. James is also a reviewer of the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (JAIDS) and PLOS Global Public Health, and he has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Adebola Adejimi - Nigeria
Dr. Adebola Afolake Adejimi is a Senior Lecturer in Community Health and Primary Care at the Department of Community Health and Primary Care, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria. She also doubles as a Public Health Physician at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Lagos, Nigeria. Her current research is focused on investigating the clinical and public health epidemiologic correlates of reproductive tract cancers and sexually transmitted infections such as HIV and Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Through these collaborations, she has authored and co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications in different areas. One of her career goals is to contribute to improving data availability for making policy decisions for the prevention of cervical cancer in Nigeria and other African countries. She is passionate about using community-based health interventions to improve health outcomes.
Rodrigue Kolawolé - Burkina Faso
Kolawolé Rodrigue Babaekpa is a research assistant and PhD candidate in demography at the Institut Supérieur des Sciences de la Population (ISSP) at Joseph KI-ZERBO University in Burkina Faso. He holds a master’s degree in Population Sciences and a Professional bachelor’s degree in public health and Epidemiology. Currently, he is pursuing a doctoral thesis titled "Sexual violence against adolescent girls in Burkina Faso: Investigating explanatory factors and response mechanisms." His research primarily focuses on gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health. An author of several scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals; Rodrigue has also presented his research at international conferences. Actively engaged in the scientific community, he is a member of several professional associations, Union for African Population Studies (UAPS), where he contributes to advancing knowledge in demography and public health.
Bekindaka Ngemani - Cameroon
Bekindaka Ngemani Obase is a PhD candidate at the Pan African University Life and Earth Sciences Institute (Including Health and Agriculture), University of Ibadan Nigeria where he studies reproductive Biology. His PhD thesis focuses on the effects of HIV Infection on the Immune Response to Malaria Among Pregnant Women in Kumba, Southwest Cameroon. He holds a master’s degree in medical microbiology and parasitology as well as a Bachelor of technology degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences
Caesar Agula - Ghana
Caesar Agula has a background in Economics and Development Studies and is currently in the final stage of his doctoral training in Population Studies with the Regional Institute for Population Studies (RIPS) at the University of Ghana. His research interests lie in health inequalities, women’s health, health systems and evaluation of health interventions.. He has successfully overseen several projects at RIPS, collaborating with institutions such as the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, Columbia University, Duke University Population Research Institute, University of Pennsylvania and Catholic Relief Services. Additionally, he is skilled in scientific writing, with a strong record of contributing to publications on all projects he has been involved in and has co-authored several peer-reviewed articles, serving as the lead author on most of them.
