Happyness Nyaborogo

Happyness Nyaborogo is an Assistant Lecturer in the Statistics Department at the Eastern Africa Statistical Training Center and a PhD student in Economics at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. She currently participates in the P3 ENGAGE Africa Mentorship Program, which is part of the AIR Opportunity Fund's Pipeline Partnership Program (P3). Through the program, Happyness was invited by her mentor Dr. Tia Palermo to join an Impact Evaluation writing workshop hosted by Policy Research Solutions (PRESTO) among other organizations and was able to improve her skills further. Shadrack Ashery Chang’a 

Shadrack Ashery Chang’a is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Dar Es Salaam, School of Economics (UDSE). He is also Deputy Postgraduate’s Coordinator, Timetable Coordinator and Sports Coordinator. His areas of research interest include Agriculture Economics, Development Economics, Health Economics and Public Sector Economics.  His current research focuses on Family structure, child Health and Education Outcome in Tanzania. FinTech, Financial Inclusion and Woman Empowerment in Tanzania, and Also Institutional Determinants of Technical Efficiency of Maize and Paddy Production in Tanzania.


Selly Chemeli Yagan

Selly Yagan is a PhD student at the University of Nairobi pursuing Doctor of Philosophy in Economics. She is a holder of a Master of Arts Degree in Economics Policy and Management from Makerere University, a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree (Economics) from the University of Nairobi and a Certified Public Accountant and a member of ICPAK Certified Public Accountant Kenya. Currently, she works as the Deputy Director Fiscal Affairs at the Commission on Revenue Allocation in Kenya. Her research title is on “The Effects of Fiscal Decentralization on Own Source Revenues, Government Size and Regional Income Disparities in Kenya”.


Polycarp Oduol

Polycarp is a Public Financial Management (PFM) Specialist with 12 years of experience in designing and implementing PFM reforms aimed at enhancing the efficiency of public spending in Kenya. Polycarp is a PhD student at the University of Nairobi pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics. Polycarp is a holder of a Master of Arts (Economics) and Bachelor of Economics and Statistics (Hons) from the University of Nairobi and a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA). Polycarp, holds the position of Deputy Director, Strategy and Planning (Ag.) at the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) in Kenya. Polycarp’s thesis title is on “Fiscal Policy, Government Size and Inclusive Growth in Sub-Saharan Africa”.


Winnie Mageto

Winnie Mageto has over eight years of experience as an Economist and Public Finance Management practitioner. She is deeply committed to driving positive change in economic, governance, and development sectors. Her expertise spans Economic Research, Budgeting, and Public Policy, with a focus on budget analysis, public debt research, climate change, and gender equity. Winnie's proactive leadership style and collaborative approach have facilitated strategic partnerships and policy advocacy, enhancing government and institutional accountability and transparency.  Winnie's academic background includes a PhD in Economics(ongoing) a Master's in Economics, and a Bachelor's in Economics and Finance. With training in Implementation Research Methodology and Public Finance Management, she is dedicated to advancing economic development, social equity, and good governance. Winnie’s thesis is on the Effect of Fiscal Decentralization on Own source Revenue performance, Infant Mortality rate and Healthcare Inequality in Kenya


Benard Gibet 

Benard Gibet is an economist with over 14 years of experience in public debt management at the National Treasury of Kenya. His expertise lies in the formulation and implementation of comprehensive debt management frameworks, alongside conducting debt sustainability analyses to optimize the national debt portfolio and inform strategic decision-making. Benard is a PhD student in Economics at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. His research title is on Debt: How Much Is Enough? Safe Debt, Debt Service and Economic Growth in Kenya. Benard holds a Master of Economics (Econometrics) from Kenyatta University, where he focused on inflation and stock market volatility in his dissertation. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts with 2nd Class Honors (Upper Division Egerton University and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA II).
